Joyeux Noël en Provence

Guess where I've been this month?

I wish it was Provence!! But for a homebody like me, it's the next best thing. Paris in Georgia?! Douceur de France is a wonderful bakery and cafe just around the corner from DuPre's Antique Market in Marietta.

And this lovely landscape is just outside of Atlanta on the way to Highlands, North Carolina ~ where I made a fun day trip with the girls a few weeks ago.

If you are craving a shopping spree in Paris but just can't get away, why not visit me at DuPre's and scoot around to corner to Douceur de France for some yummy treats?

I'm really excited for all the pretties of the holidays this year!

Bonne nuit.

~ What's New: Retail Therapy ~

Here's a look at a few of the new things in the shoppe, and there's a lot more on the way.  First, the French Country booth:

An 18th century wall shelf with wonderful character and a large collection of apothecary jars.

A wonderful tall carved St. Francis figure with beautiful little animals: a deer, turtle, hen on the front.

And a duck, rabbit and turkey on the back.

An original vintage sketch from France and collections of crusty books.

An industrial metal lamp.

A pair of black rush seated chairs.

A French style pine buffet with a flip top.

And in the Shabby Chic booth:

A crystal chandelier.

Lots of pearls and other jewelry.

A Staffordshire dog with lots of patina.

A heavy gilt candlestick.

And an Italian gilt candle mirror sconce.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving, Friends.

Today, I'm thankful for my friends and family, for my sweet little kitties, for my comfortable home, for all those creative opportunities in my life, and for frozen Marie Callender's pie!

I hope your day is spent with the ones you love, but if you can't, that you have a restful day in warm fuzzy slippers with a big bowl of popcorn and lots of good movies or juicy reruns.

Hugs to everyone.

~ Catching Up ~

We enjoyed our holiday open house at the store on Saturday.  Everyone has such pretty holiday merchandise.  Please be sure to check it out [here].  It's wonderful to relax after a busy month and catch up with my favorite blog friends.  And, I finally found time to arrange my new dining room cupboard.

The large dining room wall has been a dilemma for the last six years and the room has undergone several reincarnations.  I like this solution, which is a good thing because it would be quite impossible to change.

I really love my estate sale and thrift store dishes.  The set on the bottom shelf with the little purple leaf is my favorite.  I would love to know the name of the pattern.

Another good thing is that I had a reason to replace the large mirror over the sideboard with some of my favorite old oil paintings.  The green leafy things may have to go, though.

When I find the perfect mirror for over the sofa, I'll show you this room.  I'm looking for a huge iron window with a mirror in it.  In the meantime, I like the reflection of the cupboard and chandelier from across the foyer.

Have a wonderful week.

~ Crazy Fun and a Winner ~

How much fun is it to start the weekend with a Friday night auction?  I came home with a car-load of goodies and the delivery truck is coming on Sunday with a huge piece!  Yikes, I'm not quite sure how it is going to fit in the shop, but I had to have it.  These wonderful French headboards weren't in this month's auction, but my fingers are crossed that they will be in the next one.

The building is packed full of everything you can imagine.

Now for the giveaway . . . I have met so many wonderful people through this blog from every corner of the globe.  Followers who participated in this giveaway came from Australia, Italy, Spain, France, South Africa, and from all over the U.S.  Everyone is so talented and creative and I thoroughly enjoy meeting you and reading all of your posts!  I did a random drawing from a copy of all the comments received here and at One of a Kind Shoppe and the winner is Laura from My Summerhouse.  I love her blog.  She likes all things French, pink and girly.  Her pictures are gorgeous and she immediately touched me with her lovely spirit.  Please visit her and say hello.  I just ordered some pillow covers from her Etsy store.  Gorgeous!

Thank you to all who stop by to visit, and those who follow, and those who participated in the giveaway.  I wish everyone could win.

Have a wonderful weekend.
