~ Comfort Zone ~

There is something about all these images that I like. They are bold and fresh, and are a little edgier than the pictures I usually share. 

They are either from Elle Decor magazine, or remind me of Elle Decor's style.

I would love these looks in a Miami waterfront house.  So when I win the lottery, I'm going to pull out my Elle Decor collection for inspiration photos that are slightly modern; that push me outside my comfort zone.

 I admire Margaret Russell.  After 20 years of success at Elle Decor, the Editor-in-Chief took a risk to become the new Editor of Architectural Digest.  Who could forget her formidable presence on Top Design? 

Best wishes to Margaret and the new Architectural Digest.  I'm looking forward to the January issue.  

 And, I'm going to take a page from Margaret's book and step outside my comfort zone every once in a while.  How about you?

~ Procrastination Is A Beautiful Thing ~

I slipped out of work a little early today to get ready for my weekend house guests.  I urgently need to be cleaning.  Instead, I picked flowers, which led to pictures of flowers and now, posting pictures of flowers. 

Lily is a few sniffs away from eating the leaves.

This is the first year that these single peonies bloomed. 

A beautiful surprise.

Pink peonies, white roses and purple Veronica in the front garden.

Pink climbers cover my fence.

These old fashioned roses are so pretty this year.

More pink.

So, now that I have bouquets for the guest rooms...

I have to stop procrastinating and clean or no one will be

allowed past the front door.

If I could order a moving van to deliver this kitchen to my house, it would already be on the way.  I love everything about it. 

Since my best rooms start with "inspiration pictures," I studied this one to identify all the wonderful elements that went into creating this authentic European feeling space.
