Do you remember the line in Field of Dreams when Dr. Graham said, “You know we just don’t recognize the most significant moments of our lives while they’re happening”? I felt like I was having some of those moments this week.
I attended a memorial service in Greenville on Wednesday that was held a little chapel with a wall of windows that opened onto a pretty garden. The setting was as much a part of the service as the lovely words and songs and truly made it an uplifting celebration of life.
The little dog was on my mind since he was going to his new home that evening. The chapel was the perfect place to ask that he be accepted by his new little siblings, that he have the strength to go through heart worm treatments, and that memories of hard times be replaced by the love of his new family.
Well, here’s the little guy in his new home yesterday. He is just as sweet as I thought he was the day I found him. And while he still has some challenges ahead with his health, he has the best chance possible and will have lots of love along the way.
Do you remember in Field of Dreams when Shoeless Joe Jackson walked out of the corn onto the baseball field and asked if this was heaven? I bet the little dog is thinking the same thing!
P.S. I visited Shoeless Joe’s grave on Wednesday. The gifts of baseballs, a bat and an old pair of shoes and socks were a touching site.
Hugs and thanks to everyone who helped to make a happy ending.

We agree, we often go through life so fast, caught up in what is happening at the moment that we miss the wonderful moments that happen each day. So glad to hear about the pups happy ending. Wishing you a lovely Sunday.
What a beautiful post! I am happy
the puppy found a good home. Makes
us grateful for all we have!

That is a little angel if I ever saw one. Also, I had a gray horse just like that when I was in my 20's. Loved that photo.
