~ Double the Fun ~

Admittedly, I suffer from multiple personality disorder, at least when it comes to design style.  Since I can only have one home, I'll have to be happy with two booths at One of a Kind Shoppe.  One is French European style and the other is Shabby Chic style.  I'm still putting the finishing touches on both, but here's a preview.

~French European Style in the Burlap Room~

~Shabby Chic Style in the Corner Booth~

Every Shabby Chic room needs a chandelier.  I'm glad that me, myself and I have a reason to shop.

Have a wonderful week.

P.S., if you haven't signed-up for the giveaway at One of a Kind Shoppe, check it out.  There is a gift from each one of the dealers.

~ Wishful Thinking ~

There's something in these pictures calling my name.

I'd love to find a collection of wonderful vintage clocks.  Maybe it's just that I'm dreaming of finding some time to relax.  Back to reality now.  I hope to finish up my booths this weekend and get some new photos of the store.

Take some time for yourself.

Have a wonderful weekend.

~ Can't Believe I Won! ~

Wow, I can't believe I won the giveaway at Flora Doora.  I love the Flora Doora I ordered from Jane's Etsy site [here].  I can't believe I won this one in her giveaway.  It's so pretty!

I love every one she features.  Here is another one of my favorites in a French print.

Please check out Jane's blog.  She finds the best things in thrift stores.  Makes me want to get in my car and drive South!  Really, unbelievable!

Since I was so lucky, I'm happy to share a chance to win a great giveaway [here].  All the dealers at One of a Kind Shoppe contributed something to make a wonderful gift basket.  Everyone is welcome to enter for a chance to win.

Thanks, again Jane!

~ I Thought I Was Ready ~

I thought I was ready for Fall.  I took my pretty white wicker furniture home from the shop, and brought in some lovely dark warm pieces.

Ellen Silverman via Bradbourne Farms

But I started seeing posts from my friends who are excited about Spring.

And I missed all my pretty white things.  I thought John Saladino cured my multiple personality disorder, but I have to admit that I'm still torn between French European and Romantic Shabby Chic style.

What is a girl to do?  Make lemonade.  I'm embracing my multiple personality disorder and working on a second booth at One of a Kind Shoppe so I can be true to both of my loves.

It will take a few weeks to pull them both together, but I'm starting to set up tomorrow after Market Day.

I hope to see you at Market Day on Saturday!

Happy weekend.

~ Crazy Fun and a Winner ~

How much fun is it to start the weekend with a Friday night auction?  I came home with a car-load of goodies and the delivery truck is coming on Sunday with a huge piece!  Yikes, I'm not quite sure how it is going to fit in the shop, but I had to have it.  These wonderful French headboards weren't in this month's auction, but my fingers are crossed that they will be in the next one.

The building is packed full of everything you can imagine.

Now for the giveaway . . . I have met so many wonderful people through this blog from every corner of the globe.  Followers who participated in this giveaway came from Australia, Italy, Spain, France, South Africa, and from all over the U.S.  Everyone is so talented and creative and I thoroughly enjoy meeting you and reading all of your posts!  I did a random drawing from a copy of all the comments received here and at One of a Kind Shoppe and the winner is Laura from My Summerhouse.  I love her blog.  She likes all things French, pink and girly.  Her pictures are gorgeous and she immediately touched me with her lovely spirit.  Please visit her and say hello.  I just ordered some pillow covers from her Etsy store.  Gorgeous!

Thank you to all who stop by to visit, and those who follow, and those who participated in the giveaway.  I wish everyone could win.

Have a wonderful weekend.

~ French Country: Retail Therapy ~

It must be Fall, because I'm entering my brown phase of French country.  Here are a few finds from the past month.

Antique Dutch plates and a vintage cream monogrammed leather suitcase from an estate sale.

An old tapestry and velvet chair that I won at an auction.  I love that it's a little tattered.  There is the cutest old tag on the underside.

Pretty antique Spode fleur de lis plates from an estate sale.

A cute little vintage table from a thrift store.

And lots of silverware from here and there.

I also love the darker neutral colors my friend Linda is using in her shop at One of a Kind this Fall.  Take a look [here].

I'll be back Saturday to announce the winner of my giveaway.  Entries close at midnight Friday.  Good luck, everyone.

I'm off to an auction tomorrow.  Can't wait.

See you Saturday.

~ Labor of Love ~

To all those wonderful and inspirational friends who hunt and scavenge; polish and shine and paint; design and create; pack, travel, and set-up; and work day and night to share the things they love with all of us in their flea market booths, beautiful little shops, and on-line retail markets and blogs, Thank You!  It is a labor of love that on most days should qualify for "not for profit status."

Thank you for sharing your labor of love.  You inspire me and brighten my day with your lovely work.

So, now I'm off to treasure hunt for my little shop.  If only it was here.

Have a lovely Labor Day.

I wonder what that means?
