~ Channeling Matisse ~

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!  I've been busy getting ready for Spring at the store.  (I know, we just had the first day of Winter!)  When I found a great display piece at an auction last month, I had to have it.  Brooke Giannetti's office was my inspiration for a transformation.

via Patina Style (my new favorite book)

So, here's what I've been up to lately:

I can't wait to get this piece moved to the store and assembled.

And, since it's so hard to find pretty painted French pieces, I've been painting them, too.

This china cabinet is Paris Grey and white, and the buffet is Duck Egg and Old White.

Coco likes it.

Okay, I wasn't really channeling Matisse ~ I was channeling my friend Linda Luce, the goddess of painted furniture.  Linda sells at the Nashville Flea Market and just started a new blog ~ Simply Painted.  Linda ~ How did I do?
I'm heading out to a country auction soon where I'm sure lots of treasures await.

Have a wonderful day!

Joyeux Noël en Provence

Guess where I've been this month?

I wish it was Provence!! But for a homebody like me, it's the next best thing. Paris in Georgia?! Douceur de France is a wonderful bakery and cafe just around the corner from DuPre's Antique Market in Marietta.

And this lovely landscape is just outside of Atlanta on the way to Highlands, North Carolina ~ where I made a fun day trip with the girls a few weeks ago.

If you are craving a shopping spree in Paris but just can't get away, why not visit me at DuPre's and scoot around to corner to Douceur de France for some yummy treats?

I'm really excited for all the pretties of the holidays this year!

Bonne nuit.

~ Understated or Overflowing ~

Understated?

Or . . . Overflowing?

Which style are you?

Happy weekend!

P.S. My favorite room is the second bedroom, but my home is more understated.  There's that multiple personality thing again.

~ Lovely Surprise ~

Happy Sunday, everyone.  I hope you have enjoyed your weekend as much as I have. I worked at the shoppe yesterday and spent today at an exciting auction in Roswell.  Oh, if I only had a moving truck, warehouse and men with lots of muscles at my service ~ I would have so much neat stuff.

Source unknown (now in my inspiration file)
I had a lovely surprise a couple weeks ago when Max from Pocket Change and Become.com asked if he could include me in their Best of the Web No. 36 feature.  It's funny because I hardly ever think that anyone is actually reading my blog!!  Thanks, Max!  Please head over to Pocket Change and check it out.

Love this winter white room featured by Maureen in eclectic revisited

I'm settling into my new location in DuPre's ~ and just in time for the holidays.  We will be decorating the store during the first week of November.  I can't wait to see what everyone does.  I wish all of you, my friends, could stop by for a visit.

Yes, it's almost that time!

Have a wonderful week.

~ Belgian Creme Puffs ~

Yea!  I moved my booth at DuPre's Antique Market this weekend.  Moving's hard, but I love the space and all the new goodies.  Here's a peek.

I'm limping to the kitchen now for a treat ~ Belgian creme puffs.

Have a wonderful week!
