~ More of a Good Thing ~

This gorgeous room by Meg Adams Interior Design was my favorite at the Atlanta designer show house last summer.  My friend Vicky featured it this week in her post on "gutsy" design on Room Service ~ Decorating 101.

Everyone who has seen this photo will remember the turquoise chandelier.  I wanted to share more shots of this room.  It has so many wonderful pieces.

I love this china cabinet.  I need this china cabinet.

This huge marble slab was a show stopper.  It was so elegant resting on top of rough wood beams.

Everyone knows I love a Louis Phillipe mirror.  But how cute are the little parakeets?  If only cat hair was a design accessory!  I have a pair of lamps in the shop that would be perfect in this vignette.

And finally, the element that relates back to the chandelier.

Have a wonderful weekend!

P.S.  The wall cabinet is being tweaked.  Photos soon.

~ Trunk Love: Inspiration + Retail Therapy ~

After I found C.T. Slack's seaman's trunk, I started seeing all these wonderful photos.  Cosmic?  Maybe...

C.T. Slack's trunk is going to look great in someone's living room.  I cleaned it up but left as much character as I could.  (Just a little oops when the ink on the shipping label started to wash off.)

Here it is.  I love the wood casters.

After

So head on over to One of a Kind Shoppe and snatch it up.  I'm pretty sure it will look great paired with the basket pendant lights!

Have a wonderful weekend.  I hope you find a little time for retail therapy.

~ Comfort Zone ~

There is something about all these images that I like. They are bold and fresh, and are a little edgier than the pictures I usually share.

They are either from Elle Decor magazine, or remind me of Elle Decor's style.

I would love these looks in a Miami waterfront house.  So when I win the lottery, I'm going to pull out my Elle Decor collection for inspiration photos that are slightly modern; that push me outside my comfort zone.

I admire Margaret Russell.  After 20 years of success at Elle Decor, the Editor-in-Chief took a risk to become the new Editor of Architectural Digest.  Who could forget her formidable presence on Top Design?

Best wishes to Margaret and the new Architectural Digest.  I'm looking forward to the January issue.

And, I'm going to take a page from Margaret's book and step outside my comfort zone every once in a while.  How about you?

Have an inspired weekend.
